  I was almost sobbing when Lyra was forced to leave Pan behind in the Land of the Dead. That was an amazingly well written scene!

    I think I did tear up once or twice when reading that scene. I can only imagine that's what it would feel like if I had to do that with one of my kids. It was just awful, but I couldn't stop reading it.
